If you haven't taken advantage of the gift certificates at restaurant.com, your missing out on savings. I went there for the first time last week and got 5 $10 gift certificates for $2, so a total of 50 bucks for 2... Ill take it. The website offers $10, $25, $50, and for certain restaurants $100 gift certificates, the small print is that you have to spend over $20, $50, $100, and $100 respectively. It just so happened that the day I went to the site they had a 90% off coupon code which was "WOW", but I imagine that won't work on any other day. I imagine the discounts are daily and are just a ploy to get you to the site, which I don't mind... anything to save some cash nowadays is good. I figured the gift certificates would give me a good excuse to visit all the Thai places around my own town. The website made it easy to sort by my town and by the type of food... which was obviously Thai. The only problem I had with the site was that it was going in and out of being able to load a page... you know how frustrating it can be when you are trying to order something with your sensitive information and it doesn't work so hot.
I also think its a good judge of character seeing how each restaurant owner/operator reacts to the gift certificates. So far I have only used the gift certificates at 2 locations and both seemed to be OK with the process. They have to take the gift certificate at the beginning of the meal to verify it works.
