I only had about 30 minutes to eat before I had to be on a plane. I was driving north on the 75 so I called around and all the Thai places in the southern Atlanta area and most close from around 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM. I finally found Flavors of Thailand, which opened at 4:30, perfect I was able to fit one more Thai restaurant experience in. It ended up being another Sushi/Thai place, and most of you reading this know my opinion on fusion joints. The Thai Ice Tea was a pleasant surprise, it was different but good, which ended up being the theme of this restaurant, different but good. If I was a single man I would frequent this place for sure, I only saw cute Thai waitresses working and very sweet. I was the only person sharing their good company until a fat dude walked in and cramped my style. He ordered my holy trinity of Thai food to boot! The peanut sauce that came with the Chicken Satay tasted different to me, it tasted a little like Ketchup, which sounds weird, but it worked. The Yellow Curry also had the same Ketchupy taste, so I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt and guess it's a family special spice they add to all their dishes. The portion size of the curry dishes was amazing! It could have fed a small family of three. After a getting used to that Ketchupy taste, I really enjoyed the meal. The smell of when I pour the Yellow Curry liquid onto the rice is to die for.
The cost was average, $2.75 for the Thai Ice Tea, $5.50 for the Chicken Satay, and $10.95 for the Yellow Curry.
