Dara Thai Restaurant

Taos, NM
To preface this Thai Food Review, I need to explain why I was in Taos. Normally I travel for work, but this was pleasure accompanied by work. I was in Taos to learn how to build an Earthship. I saw this guy's blog about his earthship build and he needed volunteers to exchange labor for information/experience. I spent a week there and learned a ton about building self-sustainable living structures. I camped at the build and the only food I ate for lunch was sandwiches, so Thai food was stepping up the flavor a lot. The people were really nice, the server girl checked on us just the right amount of times and kept our glasses full, that's all I can ask for. I went for the spring rolls instead of my normal Chicken Satay and I was happy with my decision. The Thai Iced Tea was not really that good, it was a little plain. The Yellow Curry was very good, it had a nice creamy sauce. I did think it was a little weird they didn't bring out an extra plate to mix the rice and sauce on, so I just had to mix it in the rice bowl. I went to this dinner with the guy I was working with and so I had to take these pictures all 007 style because I didn't want to have to explain the whole Thai Food Blog thing. It was a little expensive, but it was pretty much what I expected from a city like Taos.
Thai Sweetened Iced Tea $1.95
Gaeng Kari $11.95
