What is the opposite of one of those huge hibachi/sushi places? Thai foods carry out in Lima Ohio! "Hot food and good stuff Thai food carry-out A new taste in oriental cooking". This is what it says on the front page of the 8 1/2 by 11 standard white folder paper menu, awesome verbiage. The restaurant is a house, when you walk in the back door where the parking is you will feel like you accidentally walked into someone's private residence. When you turn the corner you run into the makeshift eating area. From where i was sitting, i could see their family room or it could have been their bedroom. The only two people in the place were talking about not being able to afford a $13,000 house. The lady who looked like the cook/server was very nice, and surprisingly efficient. The Yellow Curry didn't look, smell, or taste like it usually does. First off it didn't have what it advertised on the menu, but in its own way it was very good, and again surprised that it was the perfect spicy. The Thai Iced Tea wasn't that at all, it was just sweet tea. This unique one of a kind experience was awesome, I enjoyed it and if this place was in my neck of the woods I would frequent it.
A quick side note, as I was going to pay I pulled out my wallet and handed her a Card, she said "oh sorry we don't have a machine". I told her I was going to have to go to the bank, but I could leave my ID or something with her, with a puzzled look she said "oh no, just come back any time and pay, even tomorrow.". Wow! You don't find that kind of trust anymore, I LOVE THAT. We need to get back to that as a society, one more thing to love about Thai people. The whole thing was sour/sweet because I had to run the bank to get the money, but I got a nice dose of how good humankind can be while I was at it.
