C & Z Siam Orchid Inc, NY

C & Z Siam Orchid Inc
2259 Emmons Avenue, NY

A little like a mexican food place bringing out chips and salsa, they brought out this carrot, pickle, sweet dressing thing, I asked the guy what it was and he said, "carrots". It felt dirty in the restaurant, the walls were dirty, the carpet was dirty, and the vinyl benches felt dirty. I noticed they did have an "A" rating hanging in the window. They had real flowers in the middle of every table, classy touch. The server was nice to the baby. The food was not what I expected, the Pad Thai was better than the Yellow Curry. The Yellow Curry had a LOT of Chinese influence, more than I had ever seen before. It wasnt a soup, it was a plate with some fancy vegetable garnishes, it tasted nothing like the coconut milk tasty curry I am used to. It also had snap peas, bell peppers, undercooked onions, and some sort of leaf. I found a couple tough grisly chicken parts in the pad Thai and curry which always bugs me and turns me off. The Thai iced tea wasn't great either, overall I was unimpressed by the food and I wouldn't recommend it. Casi observed that the Chinese place next door had live flowers as well, they might share a kitchen or even owners, it's a conspiracy!

Thai Iced Tea $2.95
Chicken Yellow Curry $12.95
