Thai Foon Pittsburgh, PA

Thai Foon
1950 Settlers Ridge Center Drive
Pittsburgh, PA

Clever name Thai Foon, touché. This is a restaurant that seems like it would be a perfect match for franchising. A quick peek in the kitchen confirmed my suspicions that not one Thai person worked there. The front of the menu says "Featuring East Asian Cuisine from Thailand, Vietnam and China, Korea and Japan". The wording seemed a little weird but I got the gist. The inside of the restaurant was clean and felt good. The Chicken Satay wasn't the greatest, chicken was fine, the sauce was fine, but it didn't have an amazing taste. The Yellow Curry did take a while to come out, about 5 minutes past the time I finished the appetizer. A cilantro and lime garnish? The taste was unremarkable, it didn't come out with enough sauce, and the carrots were nasty. I even got a big chunk of gristle that promptly ended my meal. I missed the kind attitude of a Thai girl serving me, it just wasn't the same having a semi overweight white guy my age serving me. In a weird way, I think this place is good for the Thai food community, mainly because people that normally wouldn't try Thai food get some face time.

Thai Iced Tea $1.95
Chicken Satay $4.95
Chicken Yellow Curry $9.25
