Kanaya Thai Restaurant Harrisburg, PA

Kanlaya Thai Restaurant
1030 South 13th Street
Harrisburg, PA

A huge bus pulled up with what looked like about 50 Chinese people, the first sign was they were speaking English to the waitress. As I was being sat the server informed me that the food will be slow coming out because of the big group. She was serious! It took them 15 minutes just to take my drink order, they could have handled that part better. I asked what one of the dishes that the big group was eating, and the girl said that it was different than the menu and didn't offer any other explanation, OK. After I wrote that first part of the review, the group left, things calmed down, they brought out my food, and everything slowly got put back into place. The grilled pork had an amazing sauce and a little side of rice, but the pork was very rubbery and after reading the menu say they slow cook it overnight I expected it to be really tender. The Yellow Curry had cherry tomatoes which I really liked and the overall taste was very good. I kept looking at my appetizer plate wanting to eat the pork but couldn't bring myself to finish it. Mangos weren't in season (August) and so I didn't get my precious Mango Sticky Rice. Oh surprise! They don't take Amex! That's an automatic point off the top.

Kanlaya Grilled Pork $6.95
