Lulu's Thai Noodle Shop Kansas City, MO

Lulu's Thai Noodle Shop
2030 Central St
Kansas City, Missouri

I went with two co-workers and one said he liked the style of the restaurant, he called it industrial contemporary, I agreed. This place had 160 reviews and 3 and a half stars on Yelp, pretty impressive, but other than the decor I was not. The server was a very boring middle aged white guy. He also didn't know much about the parking, or Thai food, not good for a server at a Thai restaurant with limited parking. My co-worker got the scallops and said they weren't all cooked the same. The lettuce wraps and coconut shrimp were not outstanding. The Yellow Curry was lacking big time in the flavor department. My co-worker nailed it when he asked the waiter for salt, it definitely needed salt, but it just made a bad meal mediocre. I think I have an explanation for this Thai restaurant, it's the only one in the Kansas City downtown area! I will go outside the downtown area the next couple days. This area could use a good Thai place, and Lulu's is not the place.

On the front of the menu "we are sweet and a little spicy, just like the traditional Thai dishes we serve. It is this delicious balance that has made us a neighborhood spot for over 14 years. We believe family is important. Each time we make a dish at Lulu's we honor my fathers family recipes. Because we make all our dishes to order, we promise, whenever possible, to accommodate any special requests. We appreciate our hard working staff for the work they do for us and for who they are a individuals. We appreciate that same quality in our guests. So, whether you love noodles or rice, like it hot or not, eat meat or veg out, we make sure your food is fresh, hot, and as individual as you are."
